Accelerant
Accelerant runs a data-driven risk exchange linking specialty insurance underwriters with risk capital partners across 20+ countries; NYSE-listed as ARX since July 2025.
Accelerant is a data-driven risk exchange that connects specialty insurance underwriters with risk capital partners, including reinsurers, insurers and institutional investors. Founded in 2018 by insurance executives Jeff Radke and Christopher Lee-Smith, the company built its platform to address fragmentation and inefficiency in the insurance value chain. It began trading on the New York Stock Exchange in July 2025 under the ticker ARX, bringing with it the reporting and governance obligations of a listed issuer.
The company's platform, the Accelerant Risk Exchange, links more than 290 Member underwriters across upwards of 20 countries and covers 250 specialty insurance products. Operating across multiple jurisdictions places the business within a range of insurance, reinsurance and financial regulatory regimes, while its stated emphasis on transparency and aligning incentives across the value chain shapes how data is shared among underwriters and capital providers.
Technical work centres on artificial intelligence and machine learning, data analytics, insurtech platform development, and underwriting and pricing optimisation. The stated aim is to turn data into actionable insight for underwriting decisions and pricing, and to widen access to data for participants across the insurance value chain.
Accelerant operates in the specialty insurance, reinsurance, risk capital and insurance distribution sectors. The founders' combined experience in insurance runs to nearly three decades.
