Aspora provides money transfers and borderless financial services for the Indian diaspora, operating across the US, UK, UAE and EU. The company, founded in 2022 and headquartered in London with offices in Bengaluru and Dubai, works across remittance technology, foreign exchange, stablecoin payment rails and banking services, and is expanding into NRE and NRO account offerings. Its compliance footprint spans multiple jurisdictions and product lines: cross-border payments, currency exchange, diaspora banking and utility bill payments conducted through India's Bharat Bill Payment System (BBPS), which connects to more than 22,000 billers.
The company's flagship remittance product transfers money at Google-matching exchange rates over stablecoin rails, a design intended to deliver a tenfold improvement in speed and user experience relative to traditional remittance services. More than $2 billion has been transferred since 2022, and the company reports over one million NRI users and more than ₹150 crore saved by customers on foreign-exchange fees. Bill payment services and NRE/NRO account services form part of a broader financial ecosystem, adding deposit-taking and payment-collection surfaces to its cross-border activity.
Aspora has raised more than $93 million across three funding rounds, backed by Sequoia Capital, Greylock Partners, Hummingbird Ventures and Y Combinator. It serves customers in the US, UK, UAE and EU and has signalled expansion into the US, Australia and Singapore. The company emphasises transparency and security in its pricing and processing, positioning itself as a financial bridge for non-resident Indians.
