AXA

AXA is a French multinational insurance corporation headquartered in Paris and one of the world's larger insurance and asset management groups. Founded in 1985, it operates in 52 countries and serves more than 92 million clients through a workforce of 156,000 employees and distributors. The company is publicly listed on Euronext Paris and is a component of the CAC 40 index.

Its activities span property-casualty insurance, life and health protection, savings products and asset management. Personal and commercial lines include auto and home insurance, individual and group life and savings products, and individual and group health cover. The asset management division serves both AXA's Group insurance companies and third-party clients. Operations across these businesses are conducted under a single listed group structure, with financial reporting and governance obligations attaching to the parent.

AXA traces its origins to a mutual insurer in Normandy, France, and describes a purpose of acting for human progress by protecting what matters.
