BioCatch

BioCatch provides an AI-driven behavioral biometrics platform that continuously authenticates users to help financial institutions detect fraud, account takeovers and money mule activity.

BioCatch is a behavioral biometrics company founded in 2011 that provides an AI-driven platform for continuous user authentication. The platform analyses how people interact with technology - including keystroke dynamics, mouse movements and touch screen interactions - to build a uniquely identifiable digital fingerprint for each user. By authenticating users continuously rather than at a single login point, it is designed to detect account takeovers and fraud without adding friction to the customer experience.

For compliance and financial crime functions, the platform's relevance extends to the identification of money mule activity, supporting anti-money laundering efforts alongside fraud prevention. The system analyses over 3,000 behavioral data points per user and processes some 16 billion user sessions each month. It is deployed by 287 financial institutions and protects more than 532 million people, with a global footprint spanning banking and digital financial services.

The technology draws on the premise that human interaction with technology is uniquely identifiable, a founding insight that emerged as banking shifted from branches to online channels. Technical work at the company spans behavioral biometrics, machine learning, keystroke and gesture analysis, and user behaviour analytics, applied across online and digital banking environments.
