Funding Circle is a British financial technology company that operates a lending and finance platform for small and medium-sized enterprises. Founded in 2010, in the aftermath of the Global Financial Crisis, it began as a peer-to-peer lender and now runs as an institutional lending platform. The company is listed on the London Stock Exchange and operates in the United Kingdom, employing approximately 800 people.

As a regulated participant in financial services, Funding Circle works across several areas relevant to compliance functions: online lending, credit decisioning and underwriting technology, digital payments and wallets, and institutional lending infrastructure. Its product range includes Business Loans of £10,000 to £750,000, with decisions in as little as one hour and funds typically deposited within 48 hours; FlexiPay, a line of credit repayable over 1-12 months; a Cashback Business Credit Card offering up to 2% cashback; Growth Guarantee Scheme Loans, delivered under a government-backed scheme for small businesses; and Asset Finance provided through specialist partner networks.

Since inception the platform has facilitated over £15 billion in loans to more than 130,000 businesses. Funding Circle describes itself as the UK's leading SME finance platform and one of the largest online business loan platforms in the world. Its stated purpose is to give small businesses access to funding where traditional banks were not serving them, with an emphasis on speed and customer experience relative to conventional banking processes.
