Luxfer MEL Technologies is an operating unit of Luxfer Group and a specialist developer and manufacturer of advanced magnesium and zirconium materials. The company operates under ISO 9001:2015 quality systems and holds additional aerospace, automotive and environmental certifications where required, reflecting the regulated end-markets it serves. Its products are used across aerospace, space exploration, automotive, energy, healthcare, defence, oil and gas, electronics and specialist industry.

The business combines more than 90 years of technical experience with in-house research and development, laboratory and foundry capabilities. Its technical domains span magnesium metallurgy, zirconium materials development, chemical and metallurgical engineering, foundry and casting processes, materials science, and minerals-to-finished-product supply chain management. Manufacturing and technical facilities are located in Manchester, Flemington and Saxonburg.

Luxfer MEL Technologies supplies three principal lines: advanced magnesium alloys engineered for mission-critical applications; specialist zirconium materials and products, from mineral processing through to finished goods; and technical assistance and process support provided throughout customer product development and manufacturing. Solutions are developed alongside customers rather than supplied as standard materials, with an emphasis on proactive problem-solving, consistent quality and responsive support.
