Organon

Organon is a global healthcare company delivering medicines and devices across women's health, biosimilars and established brands in more than 140 markets.

Organon is a global healthcare company whose work sits squarely in heavily regulated territory: pharmaceuticals, medical devices and biosimilars. Its portfolio spans three core business areas - a Women's Health portfolio covering contraception, fertility and other conditions unique to women or affecting them disproportionately, biosimilars, and Established Brands, comprising marketed medicines. In total the company offers more than 60 medicines and devices, developed and marketed across drug and medical device development domains that also touch cardiovascular disease and respiratory conditions.

Its regulatory footprint is correspondingly broad. Organon employs approximately 10,000 people, operates in nearly 60 countries and serves more than 140 markets. The company traces its origins to NV Organon in Oss, the Netherlands, in 1923, giving it nearly a century of pharmaceutical heritage; it became an independent company following its 2021 spinoff from Merck (known as MSD outside the United States and Canada). Its stated focus is on "delivering impactful medicines and solutions for a healthier every day", with a particular emphasis on women's health.

The technical domains in which the company works - including contraception, reproductive health, fertility, biosimilars and combination drug-device products - are among those subject to the most intensive regulatory oversight in healthcare, spanning clinical development, marketing authorisation, pharmacovigilance and device regulation across its many markets.
