Phoenix Group Holdings

Phoenix Group Holdings is the United Kingdom's largest long-term savings and retirement business, providing retirement, investment and protection products and services. Founded in 1782 and listed on the FTSE 100, the group employs more than 6,600 colleagues and administers over £295 billion of assets for approximately 12m customers. Around one in five people in the UK holds a pension with Phoenix Group.

The group operates through several established financial services brands: Standard Life, covering retirement, investment and protection; SunLife; Phoenix Life, its life insurance and long-term savings brand; and ReAssure, a life and pension business. Its activities span the regulated long-term savings, pensions, life insurance, investments and protection markets, and it operates from sites across the United Kingdom, including Edinburgh, Birmingham, Telford, London and Bristol.

Phoenix Group has stated its intention to transition its investment portfolio to net zero by 2050 and describes itself as committed to responsible business practices. In March 2026 the group announced a transformation to Standard Life plc. Its stated focus is on helping customers achieve better, longer lives through secure and sustainable financial solutions.
