Remote compliance jobs do exist in the UK. There just aren't many of them. Most compliance roles are hybrid, so if you want to work from home full time you'll need to search for it on purpose and move fast when one appears.
How many compliance jobs are fully remote?
Fewer than you'd hope. When we looked at the 20 newest roles on our board at the start of October, two were remote within the UK. The other 18 were hybrid or on site.
Banks, insurers and asset managers like their compliance staff in the office for at least part of the week. You're handling customer data and sometimes live investigations, and a lot of firms want that done on their premises.
Who hires remote compliance staff?
Charities, fintechs and tech firms are your best bet.
Humanitarian charity Relief International recently listed two UK remote roles on our board. One was a temporary Compliance Coordinator from £36,000. The other was a Governance and Legal Operations Manager from £40,000.
You'll also see roles marked remote across Europe or EMEA, such as a Compliance Officer role at Douro Labs. Read the location line carefully. "Remote, EMEA" can mean a contract in another country, pay in another currency or European working hours.
What do remote compliance jobs pay?
The two UK remote roles above start at £36,000 and £40,000. For comparison, 2026 UK salary guides put junior compliance roles at £22,000 to £30,000 and financial services compliance officers at £45,000 to £65,000. Going by these two, working remotely doesn't mean a big pay cut.
Can a beginner get a remote compliance job?
It's hard. Most employers want new starters in the office while they learn the systems and the rules. If you're new, take a hybrid role, get a year behind you, then go after remote ones. Our guide to getting your first compliance job with zero experience shows you where to start.
How do you find them?
Search "remote" on our jobs page and set a job alert. New roles land in your inbox the day they're posted. Remote roles tend to attract a lot of applicants, so applying in the first few days matters more than polishing your CV for a week.
What should you ask before accepting?
Ask four things. Which country will employ you? Are there core hours? How often will they want you in an office, if at all? And what kit and system access will you get? Remote compliance work only works if you can reach the data securely.
