Marshmallow is a UK insurtech founded in 2017 that uses technology and data science to price car, home and finance products for migrants and newcomers to the United Kingdom. Its approach recognises international driving experience, allowing drivers with no UK history to be assessed and priced fairly. The company is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and operates within financial services, spanning motor insurance, home insurance and consumer car finance.

The company was founded by Alexander Kent-Braham, Oliver Kent-Braham and David Goaté. It has grown from three founders to more than 700 employees and has raised approximately £140 million in funding, achieving unicorn status. Marshmallow has offices in London and Budapest and has served millions of drivers since its car insurance product launched in 2018.

Its technical work concentrates on risk assessment and pricing models, machine learning and advanced analytics, applied across a regulated product set. Home insurance and car finance are designed with the newcomer community in mind, forming part of a stated ambition to become a one-stop financial shop for people arriving in the UK.
