OakNorth is a fully-licensed digital bank in the United Kingdom, regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA). Deposits are protected under the Financial Services Compensation Scheme up to £120,000. Founded in September 2015 by Rishi Khosla and Joel Perlman, the bank operates from London and Manchester and combines deep credit expertise with proprietary technology, including bespoke credit decisioning and credit analytics built in-house.

The bank provides fast, flexible business lending from £1 million to tens of millions for scaling companies that are often overlooked by traditional banks, with bespoke lending decisions delivered in days rather than months. Alongside its lending arm it offers business banking services for companies and entrepreneurs, and personal savings products for individuals. Its technical domains span proprietary lending technology, credit analytics, digital banking and bespoke credit decisioning, within the broader banking, business lending, financial services, savings and SME finance sectors.

Since inception OakNorth has lent over £15 billion, supporting the creation of 61,000 jobs and 36,000 homes across the UK. The company describes itself as a digital bank for entrepreneurs, by entrepreneurs, and focuses on scaling businesses that require facilities of a size and structure not readily served by mainstream lenders.
